CDC Home Run for Children

The Charitable Trust Oriental (PBO) held its annual marathon CDC Home Run for Children, to benefit the 1,500 babies, children and young child's home, in the tourist and residential resort Casa de Campo, located in La Romana.

The event was attended by 700 runners from all areas of the country and the international community, who ran in different categories, resulting winners: in "Overall" in the distance of 5K, Orlando Bautista (male line) and Mariana Perez (female line) ; in 10K, José Andrés Rubiera (male line) and Jaisa Vicente Sanchez (female line); in 21K, Toribio R. Pichardo (male line) and Soranyi Rodriguez (female line) and finally, in the 42K, Jesus Sanchez (male line) and Milagros Taveras (female line).

It also said that in this second edition of the event winners first second and third place Overall the 42K, 21K and 10K were awarded cash prizes along with their trophies and all participants were given a medal of participation across the goal.

We are eager to begin preparations for the next iteration of our marathon and hope to see you next year in CDC Home Run for Children 2016.

In a press release reported that despite the rainy weather that prevailed during the weekend of the event, the riders were able to give the best of itself in each of the distances (5K, 10K, 21K and 42K) demonstrating that Rain was worth challenging for iron will.

The event was enlivened by the presence of Renata Soñé and Carlos Sanchez, also the participation of Dominican professional triathlete, Natasha Mendez, who supported the cause 5K in distance running with a group of students from the child's home. The Charitable Trust Oriental (PBO) thanked all the sponsors, participants, volunteers and members of the PBO community for the great support and enthusiasm.
